Notable botanical collection
Plant specimens collected by EcoSynthesis ecologist Dr. Adrian Juncosa in three alpine locations in the Truckee-Lake Tahoe region of the Sierra Nevada have been confirmed by the expert in North American sagebrush species as being an uncommon species – Artemisia tripartita – that has never before been reported from California. This represents a range extension of hundreds of miles, and the collections were made in a completely different habitat than the plant was previously known to utilize.
